EDRI organized two rounds of Executive Project Management Training
The Ethiopian Development Research Institute organized two rounds of training on “Executive Project Management” from 14-18 and 20-25 March 2016. The training was given by Professor P.D. Rwelamila, Professor of Project Management & Project Procurement Systems at the University of South Africa.
Participants of the training were executive level officials of government ministries, agencies, and corporations as well as financial and academic institutions. The institutions were purposefully selected to enhance the skills of the participants to aid projects undertaken by the government. The training had been designed to acquaint participants with modern project management techniques, and M&E tools vital for the ease of government project management.
According to Dr. Gebrehiwot Ageba, Director of Programs at EDRI, the positive feedback from the first round of training in March 2015 was the impetus behind organizing two rounds this year accommodating more government officials. At the certificate ceremony, the director emphasized on the importance of developing local case studies from projects participants are involved in and know very well about. In addition, he called for future collaboration to provide the training with local capacity.
This training is one of many collaborative works that EDRI is undertaking in relation to capacity building of government institutions.
