YLP is an international research engagement for a period of 15 years, including Ethiopia, Vietnam, Peru and India. The project aims to follow through changes in the poverty profile of 3,000 children in each country. It is implemented in collaboration with a consortium of international and local institutions.
ESSP II is a joint programme between EDRI and IFPRI centered on agriculture and rural development. Phase I covered the period from 2004 to 2007. Phase II is extended to 2008–mid-2013. This programme focuses on strategic research, creation of knowledge support system, and capacity building through joint research, short and long-term training and knowledge dissemination to policy and research communities. There is also a National Advisory Committee, which approves and oversees the activities of ESSP.
IGC-ECPis a country programme of the International Growth Center, U.K in Ethiopia and supported by DFID. The objective of the programme is to conduct research on demand-driven and growth related topics and disseminate results to the policy and research communities. Research is undertaken by a hub of researchers at the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics in collaboration with national and international partners.
EDRI provides financial, administrative and utility services to these collaborative projects.
These are post graduate research and training institutes in Japan. They are collaboratively engaged with MoI and EDRI in the areas of industrial development strategy and policy. They also provide short and long term training opportunity with support from the Government of Japan and JICA.
The UNDP provides funds for data system creation, macro-economic research and modeling and capacity building. The support includes capacity enhancement at the CSA, MoI, Ministry of Trade (MoT) and MoFED in macro-economic policy analysis and data system creation.
This is a research institute working on the economics of energy. We are partner with them on research related to the development and use of the energy sector in Ethiopia.
This is an institute working on climate change and strategies for green economy development. EDRI and GGGI closely work together on Ethiopia’s CRGE in collaboration with the Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
